Samsung has been attempting to make serious dents in the wearable space with it’s latest offerings. Not only is the company focusing on coming up with smartwatches to introduce to the market, but it is also now on it’s the second iteration of their fitness offering. The original Gear Fit was not critically acclaimed upon it’s release, but it was seen as a decent option. With that being said, Samsung has now released their second iteration which is promised to deliver a much better and smoother experience. In this article, we will be going over a comparison of the two iterations.
Samsung Gear Fit 2 Vs Samsung Gear Fit 1:
The biggest difference between the two devices becomes apparent in it’s overall speed. The Gear Fit 2 has a much better processor mainly because of the technology that has been released since the inception of the first model. Because the releases came around two years apart, the technology has evolved considerably within the wearable space. The processor in the Gear Fit 2 is almost five times faster than the one in the original Gear Fit 1. The reason they used such an incredibly more powerful processor in the latest iteration is that of Samsung’s desire to include smartwatch capabilities in their latest iteration. This includes the ability to access every single notification that you get on your compatible Android phone and the ability to reply to both calls and texts with various staged responses and even using Emojis. Another good thing about the second iteration is the ability to support various applications which are mainly limited to specifically designed Samsung applications. However, it has third party support which means all kinds of applications are likely going to be on their way.
Another area where the two different iterations vastly differ is within it’s overall design. While the design is purely subjective, the second device is inherently better regarding usability and comfort. That is not to say that the first iteration is simply not good, the second simply improves on the first in every which way that makes it smoother and sleeker than before. Because the screen is more round, it is not something that protrudes out from the device the same way the original did. Instead, it looks as if it flows much better and it ultimately will look a lot better to a majority of the population. The original pretty much only came available in color black whereas the latest iteration comes in three different colors including black, blue, and pink.
Whenever it comes to gadgets and electronics, battery life often gets overlooked. The fact is, the battery life of a device like this is likely going to impact your usage rates and your satisfaction levels more than any other area. Thus, it should be high up on your priority list. The Gear Fit 2 can offer superior battery life in every way. While the Fit 2 is not likely to last you as long if you utilize it to it’s fullest potential using all of the various apps and services like Spotify to stream your music, it still has better overall battery life than it’s the previous version.
As you can tell, the Gear Fit 2 is better in pretty much every single way. Samsung did a great job improving on it’s already strong offering.
